Chi N. Quang, O.D.

Dr. Chi Quang joined Castro Valley Optometry Group in 2010.  She is certified to provide full-scope optometric eye care including treatment of glaucoma.  Dr. Quang is dedicated to giving her patients thorough and personalized eye exams, with special interest in low vision and medically-necessary contact lens fittings.

Dr. Quang graduated from the University of California Berkeley, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Cell Biology, Neurobiology emphasis in 2001, and a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009.  Following graduation, she completed a Primary Care and Low Vision Rehabilitation Residency at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Medical Center.  She continues to divide her time between the Veterans hospital and Castro Valley Optometry Group practice.

Dr. Quang speaks Cantonese, Vietnamese and Spanish.  Her interests include sewing, painting with watercolors, and enjoying the outdoors.

Richard W. Sequeira, O.D.

Dr.  Richard Sequeira is a fourth-generation San Leandran.  In 1973, he earned a BA in Psychology at the University of California Berkeley with an interest in physiological psychology.  In 1977, he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry.  

Dr. Sequeira is therapeutically certified to diagnose, manage, and treat various conditions to the eye.  He provides comprehensive eye examinations and fits many types of contact lenses: rigid gas permeable and soft astigmatic, bifocal, and keratoconus.  He enjoys working with children and co-managing LASIK and post-cataract surgery patients.

Dr. Sequeira is a member of the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and Alameda-Contra Costa Counties Optometric Society.  He has been a Clinical Examiner of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, a Kiwanis president and a vice-president of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce.

When not at the office, Dr. Sequeira enjoys spending time with his wife of over 35 years, his son and daughter, and newly arrived grand-daughter.

Paul H. Peng, O.D., M.A.

Dr. Paul Peng graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1986 and a Masters of Art degree in reading disabilities in 1987.  He completed his training for glaucoma treatment certification in 2002. 

Dr. Peng is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a past president of the Alumni Association at Berkeley Optometry.  Currently, he divides his time between Cal Optometry and Kaiser.  At Castro Valley Optometry Group, Dr. Peng is available by limited appointments only, and does not accept new patients.

When he’s not at work, Dr. Peng likes to spend time with his family and to scuba-dive.
